The activated carbon desiccant bag PropaseCarbon is made from bentonite, natural clay, and activated carbon. It functions both as a moisture absorber and odour removal bag, acting as a humidity desiccant and natural odour neutraliser.

This absorber uses a permeable fabric bag that allows water vapour to be absorbed inside the bag.

Activated carbon and clay desiccant bag – moisture absorber and odour neutraliser

PropaseCarbon desiccant bags combine 50 % natural clay (bentonite) and 50 % activated carbon, offering a dual function: absorbing excess humidity and eliminating unpleasant odours. Their absorption capacity is 9 ± 2 % of their own weight at 23 ± 2 °C and 40 % relative humidity. The desiccant material is packed in a non-woven permeable fabric bag that allows water vapour absorption inside.

The main desiccant material is natural calcium bentonite, with a pH (10 % solution) between 3.5 – 8.5, conductivity < 0.3 S/m, particle size 0.25 – 6.3 mm, solubility < 2 %, and residual moisture < 2 %.

The odour-absorbing component is coconut nut charcoal activated carbon, steam-activated through a physical process. It has a minimum iodine index of 1050 mg/g and a methylene blue index of at least 13 ml/0.1 g.
