Multilayer Anti-Static Bags (MBB) against moisture, ESD and EMI

In addition to protecting against moisture, these bags meet stringent international standards such as PN-EN (IEC) 61340-5-1 and 61340-5-3, ensuring reliable performance in industrial applications. They are versatile, available in a variety of sizes and configurations to suit specific needs, such as vacuum sealed packaging.

Antistatic shielding bags are silver in color and are usually used outside EPA (Electrostatic Protection Area) zones, which are common in the automotive sector with a relative humidity of 50% and a temperature of 23ºC. These types of products contain an intermediate layer of aluminum that gives the silver color and creates a Faraday cage protecting the products from electrostatic charges. The purpose of this type of ESD shielding bag is to protect products from the build-up of electrostatic charges in an environment where they can easily be generated outside EPA zones.

It is a product commonly used for electronic components and in the automotive industry.

Within the Shielding bags, we could separate them into 2 types:

  • Shielding: Simply called Shielding, these are semi-transparent as they have a small amount of aluminum in their intermediate layer. They are usually 76 microns thick.
  • MBB (Moisture Barrier Bag): These contain more aluminum than Shielding, providing a barrier against moisture as well as protecting against electrostatic charges. They are normally opaque and have thicknesses starting at 90 microns.
